Hello. My name is Harmony Miller. I am the midwife at Rosemary Birthing Home. I grew up in Port St. Lucie, Florida. I am the fourth child of eight. One of whose homebirth I attended at the age of 2. Believe it or not, I studied technical theatre before I became a midwife. While in college at Florida State University for lighting design, I had the privilege of witnessing a home birth. I was changed. So was my major. I immediately started taking classes toward an RN degree. I wanted to be a midwife. I read everything I could get my hands on about birth and attended every childbirth education series in town. It was during this time that my goddaughter Skylah Blue was born. Her mother was my best friend and college roommate. I had the great honor of attending her birth. When Skylah was born I fell to my knees crying. I had witnessed the most sacred thing that had ever happened. My life was forever changed. At Skylah's birth I met a midwifery student. She told me about The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. I immediately registered for classes. During this time I also became a Doula and attended many home and birth center births in Tallahassee and surrounding areas. While in school, I apprenticed at the Birth Cottage, a freestanding birth center in Tallahassee. I worked at the Birth Cottage for 4 years. During which time I graduated from midwifery school, having attended hundreds of births.

Before moving to Sarasota in 2006, I lived in Monticello Fl. There I lived in a small cabin in the woods. I had chickens and a small garden. I had a homebirth practice assisting women in N. Florida.

Birth is my passion. I truly love what I do. I feel honored to be invited to participate in the greatest miracle of childbirth. I enjoy watching families support one another. I love seeing a woman do more than she ever thought possible and be born as a mother. I specialize in water birth and feel it is the gentlest entrance for a newborn baby.

I am a certified lactation counselor. I am certified in neonatal resuscitation, and CPR. I hold a Florida License to practice Midwifery (LM). I also hold a national certification as a certified professional midwife (CPM).
